Stores I check before iTunes

Image via Wikipedia Now that iTunes tossed the music DRM I no longer have a problem buying from them. Well, except for the price. Even before they jacked up the prices on some tracks to $1.29 and broke the ten dollar album barrier I never really liked their album pricing.

Napster DRM free?

Looks like Napster is opening up a store to compete with Amazon MP3 and iTunes Plus. Unfortunately I can’t confirm that because I can’t ssh tunnel through my Detroit box while I’m at the conference (ssh tunneling is blocked over wifi.) A little on NIN and Amazon

Trent Reznor just released the first CD of his new album for free. (Obligatory mirror for my torrent-throttled friends: hosted in Detroit, official torrent: tracked by The Pirate Bay)The full album is up for a digital download for $5. Great! Well, everyone else thought so too, and his site went down under load. He posted [...]
