I read your article on how to remove the DRM from ePub books and it seemed easy enough to follow, but being a newby to a MAC, I have no idea what I’m doing. I had an ereader with about 100 books on it. I have not read them all yet. I just bought an iPad and it want to transfer my eReader books to my iPad, but I can’t figure out how to do. Suggestions? I am using a MAC to try and transfer them to my iPad.Remember, I’m VERY new to using a MAC.
Were you successful in removing the DRM from the epub files? If you can open them up in an ereader outside of the one you bought it through, then the answer is likely yes. Otherwise, try stripping the protection again. The latest versions of ineptkey now support mac, ineptkeymac.py is too old to work now.
I’m not sure how to transfer the resulting books to an iPad since I don’t have an iPad and no longer have an OS X machine, but the most recent versions of Calibre do appear to have support for transfer to iPad.
